I'm getting my first bike, I wonder what is the best type of jacket is. I live in an area that is quite hot and humid in summer and cold during the nights in the fall (I'm going to stretch my horse season the extent possible). Will I be miserable if I get only a leather jacket vent? Is the mesh and / or textile riding jackets I see for sale to trawl protect pavement? Is there a good type of jacket that is appropriate in a hot and cold weather? Thank you.

For winter and prefer fall weather leather jackets with armor. For spring and summer riding, I prefer a vented textile jacket with armor.
