Types of Bicycle Guide
There are many types of bikes, as there are places to ride and the terrain to ride. The three categories are broader and bikes mountain bikes and road bikes for recreation. Like almost all other aspects of cycling, three categories are divided into many subcategories. There are road bikes and comfort bikes. There are hybrids and BMX bikes. And there are bikes that categories beyond creating their own niche.
The best bikes are designed with one goal in mind. Every detail and every component is made to the highest standards to perform a single function. These bikes best fit in the major categories, including road and mountain bikes. A typical road bike is designed to be mounted on the road. Is made for smooth pavement and long distances. Your typical MTB is designed to be mounted on the ground only. Is optimized for the varied terrain and inclines / bit-oriented decreases low speeds and shorter distances. From there you can reach more specialized machines (for example, testing time and bikes Road Mountain bike downhill).
Road cycling
The term "bike path" is typically used to describe a "Road racing bicycle, or bicycle optimized for mounting on the road at high speed over long distances, with few additional features. A more general definition, and perhaps more accurately, a road bike would be a bicycle that is designed to be mounted above all in the way, not regardless of the composition of the bicycle itself. For our purposes we will use the definition of the retail industry a road bike, being mainly a bicycle road racing. When you see an ad for a road bike will normally see a bike around 700c wheels with skinny tires and brake calipers dual pivot. Will drop bars with aero Brake Levers and designed for a very streamlined and stretched on horseback, as the type of bike you see Tour de France or local road race.
Mountain Bike
The type of bike designed to be mounted on the ground is known as a "bicycle mountain. "These bikes generally have 26-inch wheels, flat handlebars, wide tires and gnarled, and less leverage to use off-road. Most mountain bike built today have aluminum alloy frame, front suspension fork, 9 speed rear cassette and three dishes on the front. Or have Disc Brakes or linear pull, type V-brakes. Again, there are variations to all the features of a MTB, but it is a good description overview of what you see in the ads as a mountain bike.
Commuter bike
In today's ultra-green, ultra-active society, people are looking for more and more ways to help the environment and live a healthier life. Using a bicycle for transportation is a good way to achieve these goals and save money while doing so. typical commuter bikes are designed for different road qualities and maneuverability in city traffic. While many different styles bicycles are made, everyone should have some key features: the ability of defense, weather, safety lights, good riding position for comfort and speed, the right tires for possible rough roads and off-road routes, and cargo space to carry essentials.
Fixed gear / track / SS
"Track bikes" have become synonymous with fixed gear and sometimes rides a single speed. This has become one of the most inappropriate names common in cycling today. All true track bikes are designed to be mounted at the Velodrome. They are designed with no brakes, separations very tight, upright and rigid angles, lower bottom bracket, and a single gear, fixed. A fixed "gear" bike can be built using any type of frame, a single dish and a single piece, fixed on the rear axle. Can be a mountain bike, a bike, a road bike, or any vintage bicycle. The only requirement is to have a fixed rate. A "single speed" is just that: a single-Speed Bicycle. One of the SS is usually a bike with a freewheel on the rear axle only allowing wheels to roll forward independently of the cranks. Technically, track bikes and "fixies" are both speeds alone.
