Never attempt to repair a piece of carbon fiber. Period. Not as easy as mixing the resin and the filling in the defect. In addition, handlebars are among the worst places to save weight, because there is no performance advantage and failure could kill you. On the other hand, saving 20 grams for each wheel (like going to the light tubes and tires) would enhance performance, as if he fell almost a pound of the bike. Reduce weight where it counts, not where it hurts.
