I already have a good frame which is my friends old one but the wheels
and forks are useless.So i want to buy new forks wheels and i was wondering these would do:

I am 165-170 cm tall and the frame fits me nicely will these??

You don’t mention if the fork is the type you need (I assume you know this). If it fits, it’s a very good fork. Be certain you need a 1 1/8 steerer and 230mm is long enough for your bike.

I’m not familiar with the wheels. I’ve seen these for sale on EBay for a couple years now. While I wouldn’t buy them but they look like a decent set of very inexpensive wheels though. It appears the rims are pretty stout so they should stay true.

¿I can change the cassette on my road bike?

I have a Scott Speedster, but the size cassette (SRAM PG-950 12-26 T) are too large for use in the hills, so I want to buy a new tape? I'd like a SRAM Power Glide II 9 Speed Cassette, 11-34. Is that small? Is conform to the bike I have? I drive a small cog in mountains and I use big gears on the floor, so you need a team that can come up with. Hope that helps.

sure it will or should fit, but the 11-34 is not less, will be slower and work better in the mountains, but you have now is made to speed, what do you actually do? smaller in the lowest speed (faster) and larger in the highest gear (climbing) so how can he deliver? You are directed to a tape speed of 9 and both work well.

Can you change a 14mm axle to a 10mm axle on bmx hubs?

Ok now I know this question has been asked before, but I disagree with the answer that it can’t be done, or at least need more info. I recently came across bmx wheels (cheap versions of skyway-tuff type wheels) with 14mm axles. I pulled the hub apart, and to me it seems that the inside of the hub where the ball bearings roll (racer?) is the same size as that on a hub which uses a 3/8″ axle. The only difference is that the 14mm axle requires 3/16″ bearings (with appropriate cones, dust covers). So, I don’t see the problem with swapping axles, as long as you use all the other bits too that are on the 3/8″ hub (ie 1/4″ bearings, 3/8″ cones, 30mm dust covers). An answer provided previously says that the hardware is completely different, but it doesn’t look impossible to me if you change over the 3/8″ hardware as well. I realise this may depend on the type of hub, but I guess my point is that it can be done if you inspect the inside of the hub for compatability.

You’ll need to use the correct size bearings, otherwise the bearings won’t fit correctly into the bearing surface inside the hub. If you use a 1/4″ bearings in a 3/16″ hub, the bearings will have a different radius to the bearing track, and will wear very quickly.

If it means that you have to fit a new hub, then the cost will probably make it not worth while, since a new wheel will be more cost effective.

I learnt In a mtb, it will be easier, especially as a lot of mtb a similar frame design to a bmx( dirt jump bikes). It’s much easier going from a mtb to a bmx than it is a bmx to a mtb, as the bmx riding style is very different. I ride my mtb the same as my bmx as well.
