tri-and four-wheeled bicycle spoke?
research suggests that 3 and 4 spoked wheels are great for time trial / triathlon (all but up) over a wide range of conditions (crosswinds, flat, no wind, etc.). any ideas on which setting is best for the money?
HED and Zipp are the leaders in aero wheelsets. Zipp is most common in the races in my area of HUS. (HED is most well known for rear disc wheels.) I recently read that Zipp is selling a line of lower cost of aero wheels under the brand "The flash point." I have not seen locally but they are there. The wheels are designed by engineers Zipp, but at a much lower cost. That would be my recommendation. Plan on spending about $ 600.00 or more of a set. For a cheaper alternative, try a bowl, flat spoke wheelset. I bought a set of them (for Shimano) in my local store for $ 300.00 three and I ran for three years before upgrading. Good luck!
